Whistles blowers aren't always celebrated.
Sometimes they're crushed.

In the Spring of 2006, I became a pharmaceutical corporate whistle blower.
In February of that year, I had recruited a law firm with experience in pharmaceutical whistle blower lawsuits in Boston, which is a top place to file and submit pharmaceutical whistle blower cases. They agreed to represent me after I submitted a ten page document to them I composed- explaining why the wrongdoing of my employer, Novartis Pharmaceuticals, needed to be addressed. They represented me on complete contingency, which meant that they would not be paid if they did not succeed in the whistle blower lawsuit they were submitting for me.
The law firm submitted the whistle blower lawsuit against Novartis in April of 2006. And it was filed under seal, which means that I and my legal council cannot discuss the case whatsoever. It's a trick played by the D.O.J., to eliminate the possibility of media contact.
I made a trip to Boston in July of 2006 to be asked hundreds of questions by various relevant government entities, such as the department of health and human services. Also, in the center of a large table in a conference room, was a phone, with numerous attorney generals from various states- all there to hear my answers to the hundreds of questions I was asked one day, for 8 hours. I spoke with complete knowledge of the evidence, and with total honesty.
Novartis hired me at the end of 2001 as one of their many sales representatives. At that time, I had already worked for two of the top pharmaceutical corporations in the world, which were Merck and Pharmacia Corporation. The game is the same no matter which pharmaceutical corporation one may work for as a sales representative.
That game, as a pharmaceutical representative, is bribing doctors: hiring doctors to be on the payroll of the pharmaceutical corporation.
In the years I worked for Novartis, I received above average raises yearly. I received numerous awards from Novartis. I was very well liked and respected. Novartis gave me a company car, I normally only worked half-days. I was viewed as an expert as a pharmaceutical sales representative. I was often asked to train other new sales representatives. This was vocational bliss.
So, why would I even consider reporting wrongdoing by them, if they treated me so well? Was I insane?
WIDESPREAD CORRUPTION
In the year 2003, I discovered CafePharma. CafePharma is basically an online venting board for pharmaceutical representatives. Such representatives who post on this board often do so with overt anger and disgust. My uneasiness about bribing doctors was validated by what representatives from many pharmaceutical companies wrote on this board. The money we paid targeted doctors are kickbacks. By paying such doctors, we as sales representatives are violating the federal anti-kickback statute.
As sales reps with large pharmaceutical corporations, the more doctors you acquire n your territory, the more you assure your career with your employer. You are told as nauseum by your employer to seek and pay targeted doctors.
With Novartis, they took things a step further: They sent instructions to their sales force to remind doctors paid by representatives that they are obligated to prescribe Novartis pharmaceuticals whenever possible. This, of course, potentially clouds the clinical judgments of such doctors, and as a result, adversely affects the restoration of health obligated by the health care provider.
The year now was 2004, and I had had enough. I had enough of Novartis threatening the members of their sales force. Each representative was given a promotional budget. Often, this budget was several thousand dollars per month. The unspoken rule was, each representative has to spend all their budget, or else. It was this year I started to read books written by those experts critical of the pharmaceutical industry. I began to become very uncomfortable about the industry I represented.
Also, in 2004, I started to collect evidence in the form of internal documents- accessible only to Novartis employees, and not intended to be viewed by others. Documents illustrating the coercion by Novartis to its sales force to spend their promotional budgets. Documents in the form of emails by upper management- indicating the need to enforce quid pro quo- to acquire and keep targeted doctors on the payroll of Novartis. Documents instructing the sales force to sell a promoted drug for a use not indicated by the food and drug administration.
SPLIT PERSONALITY
At this time, I suffered from pharmaceutical representative schizophrenia. One personality of me I expressed was the perfect sales representative, who always spent the promotional budget, and became elated at hearing that various disease states for which the promoted products would treat were expected to increase. The one who acquired and hired doctors targeted by Novartis. The one who believed in bribing and threatening doctors on the payroll of Novartis.
The other personality I represented quietly was the one who had a need to report this wrongdoing by my employer. My real personality.
The year 2005 approached, and I continued to collect evidence in the form of Novartis internal documents. By the end of 2005, My whistle blower personality was dominating my existence. I became vocal about my unease with what we were being told to do by Novartis as sales representatives. I deliberately dug my own employment grave with Novartis.
In the Spring of 2006, I was ostracized by Novartis, due to what I expressed about the illegal nature of my job. Days after the whistle blower lawsuit was filed in Boston, I was terminated. . I expected to be terminated, at that point.
In 2007 and 2008, I discovered that no corporation would hire me. No large corporation. It is as if potential employers were aware that I blew the whistle against Novartis. There is a system within the Department of Justice called the PACER system, I believe. It records all who file such lawsuits as I filed via my legal counsel. And it's accessible to anyone. In these years, I acquired employment by two very small pharmaceutical companies, but the pay was next to nothing. I was laid off in the Spring of 2008 by one of them, and that was the official end of my career as a pharmaceutical sales representative.
GOVERNMENT FAILS TO INTERVENE
In the Spring of 2009, my whistle blower lawsuit was unsealed by the D.O.J., and, even though the evidence I presented was overwhelming, the government did not intervene in the case that I filed. I suspect that Novartis bribed the D.O.J. not to intervene. There is a pathologically intimate relationship between corporations and the U.S. government- their collusion is expressed in the revolving door.
Of all large pharmaceutical corporations, and the settlements they have paid for wrongdoing identical to what I discovered and presented to the D.O.J. with Novartis, Novartis has paid the least amount over the years.
A study of 233 whistleblowers was conducted years ago, to explore the effect on one who blows the whistle on a corporation. Their findings:
The average whistle blower is a man in his 40s with a strong conscience and high moral values. I was near the age of 40 when I became a whistle blower.
After blowing the whistle, 90 percent of whistle blowers were fired or demoted. 27 percent faced lawsuits themselves. 26 percent had to seek psychiatric or physical care. 25 percent suffered substance abuse. 17 percent lost their homes. 15 percent experienced divorce. 10 percent attempted suicide. 8 percent were bankrupt. But in spite of all of this, only 16 percent said they would not blow the whistle again.
The only effect I did not experience with this study above is facing any lawsuits.

Living In The Depths Of The Abyss
The day my now 44 plus years of life began to end rapidly was August 13th, 2009.
It was this night my wife of 20 years, who is also my fourth cousin who I’ve known for three decades, kidnapped my now 12 year old daughter, Hayley.
That night was the worst night of my life. I did not know where my two most loved girls were. I still do not know where the two girls I love the most are today- and it’s been over a year. I've not spoken to, or seen, my now ex wife and daughter for that length of time.
I find myself welcoming death chronically now due to the absence of my family, not to mention all tangible items I had before this attack occurred upon me by my now ex wife, Molly, which I no longer have now. I am now a man without anything or anyone presently. This total and complete loss I continue to experience is inconceivable.
The next day became worse than the night I had just experienced in middle August of 2009.
Three police cars arrived at the front of my two story house that afternoon- as I was returning from a long bicycle ride. Immediately, I thought my wife Molly or my daughter, whose name is Hayley, were somehow harmed. Instead, this army of rural police wanted me, quite clearly.
I was served by them a restraining order requested by my wife, who that day went to the St Charles country court in Missouri Molly, my ex wife now, claimed that I violently abused her the night before this occured. I was given seconds to vacate my own home at that time by this army of law enforcers.
I was treated by these police members as actually being a violent individual. Shock is an understatement for how I felt then, as I continue to feel now. Anyone who knows me is aware that I’m a very non- violent, and non- abusive, individual.
At that time I left my own house by force,I became homeless due to these meritless actions by Molly and her free legal team.
Molly moved in immediately, and with a significant amount of our furniture, including my daughter’s furniture and items, into another girl’s house. This new roommate of my wife and daughter did similar actions against her own husband years ago. This other girl was a member of the army my ex wife recruited to completely destroy me.
Myself discovering this loss of items in our house in fact violated this insane restraining order issued against me, which again was clearly was planned and thought out by Molly, and other women she recruited as mean and angry as Molly is now.
Restraining orders of this psychotic nature are easily violated, I learned. For trying to gently reconcile with Molly days after the restraining order was issued against me, I spent 41 days in jail- starting in the beginning of September of last year. This was my first time ever incarcerated.
The St. Charles County, Missouri jail is owned by three judges there. My rights were never taken into consideration at any time. Molly kidnapped our daughter the night before the restraining order, and this fact was never considered in my prosecution.
What likely extended my stay in jail was the fact that I wrote Hayley while I was in jail often, in order to stabilize her emotionally, as well as myself. These letters were mailed to Hayley at Molly’s parent’s house. Hayley wrote me back when I was in jail then as well.
I don’t care about these laws against me now, and I didn't care then, when I was jailed for well over a month.
My daughter comes above any law that exists in this toxic family law system in the United States, as well as other countries, I'm sorry to say.
So as I've said, Molly captured and sold all joint and individual assets in her possession when I was in jail. She also contacted all who know me, and convinced them somehow I was in jail for violently abusing her. As a reminder, I was in jail for violating the restraining order. When I was released from jail, my possessions were very minimal. That is to say, I basically only had the clothes on my back at the time.
Judge Cundiff was the judge who handled my case.
When I made this mistake of pleading out my case in order to leave jail in mid October of last year while in jail, I was assigned a probation officer named Tina Rowland for two years.
Tina was about my age, no children, and not married, as I recall. She would smile when I would share my trauma with her during my mandatory weekly visits with Tina. Tina’s disposition towards me during those very few visits with her were overtly abusive.
Weeks after I was released from jail, and faced with Tina, a warrant was issued for my arrest once again. This was mid November of 2009. I don’t know what this warrant was for specifically, but I know I did nothing wrong.
It was at this time I left the state of Missouri, and moved to Atlanta, Georgia by bus. A girlfriend I had 25 years ago lives near Atlanta, and she wanted me to stay with her, as we had been speaking often at that time. She paid for my bus ride to be with her.
Staying with this girlfriend lasted about 6 months.
I told this girl from the very start that my emotions are shot, and I still had a multiple drug problem- that was in fact fueled by Molly for years. So I told her I am quite unstable.
This girlfriend eventually learned I did in fact possess some serious intrinsic problems, and I do still.
In order to salvage what remains of me due to my now ex wife’s desire to destroy me, I voluntarily entered drug and alcohol rehabilitation with the Veterans Administration in April of this year. This was also the month I was served divorce papers by Molly’s free legal team here in the Atlanta area.
The divorce dictates that Molly has sole custody of our daughter Hayley, and that anytime I may see Hayley, child protective services has to be present. This is due to what is called the precautionary principle. This principle means that, because another accused me of being violent, I’m somehow prone to being a violent human being.
There are numerous behavioral traits associated with a violent, or potentially violent, individual. I am void of such traits, yet these traits were never considered in this prosecution that continues against me.
No assessment of me was ever made by Molly’s free legal army now assigned to her, or the abusive court, which receives nationwide hundreds of millions of dollars yearly, due to federal grants from the violence against womens act, initiated in the year 1994.
So I entered drug and alcohol rehabilitation after trying to commit suicide with powerful drugs prescribed to me in March of this year.
And it was in June of this year that this Atlanta girlfriend understandably ended our relationship-days after I started my drug and alcohol rehabilitation.
I remain presently with the Veterans Administration and their homeless program now, as I continue with my recovery from my drug abuse, and mental atrophy due to the actions of my ex wife, Molly.
Since this nightmare entered my life now over a year ago, others from all walks of life have suggested that I should be angry or hateful towards Molly- due to what she has done to me. They have insisted acquiring such emotions would be good for me, somehow. Yet I remain void of such emotions to this day.
I seek to understand how my wife of so long could have done such a surprise and invalid attack on me, after Molly conspired with other females as unstable as Molly clearly is. Nor do I seek revenge against Molly, for what she has done to my life. I seek to understand her motives, and the etiologies for why she destroyed our family and myself.
I'm concerned about the safety of my daughter Hayley always now, due to the aggressive nature of her mother.
At this time, I’ve applied for disability via social security, due to the severe psychological trauma inflicted upon me with deliberate intent by my now estranged wife, Molly. My future is far from hopeful.
I remain broke, homeless, and unemployed. In many ways, I’m largely dysfunctional, or unfunctional.
I remain with a strong desire to somehow mend the damage Molly has done to me, and others close to me. I was close with Molly’s parents for a period spanning three decades, for example.
Some say that this desire of mine is unreasonable. Most consider me a fool for having such impossible goals, such as achieving needed peace with those I continue to love. Some say I will not speak or see my daughter for years to come.
Perhaps they are right.
Perhaps.

A Letter From Hayley
The following is the last letter I received from my daughter Hayley. The letter before this one I received from her was in January. Her mother filed a bogus restraining order against me a year ago, and I have not spoken to, or seen, Hayley since August of last year. I break the law everytime I write her, but I will continue to write her often ensure the emotional stability of both of us, actually.
She makes me want to live:
Dear Daddy,
Hey- how are you? Sorry I haven't written you back. I just haven't felt the heart to do it yet.
But last night, I had a dream. In the dream, I ws here and somehow a fire started. Now, I've always promised myself that if there was ever a fire, the only two things I would grab would be my phone, of course, and also the photo that we took at the daddy-daughter dance that is sitting in my room now.
And when I couldn't grab the picture, I was completely devastated. It was the only thing I had of you. You know I love you very much, and I miss you.
And I'm sorry about what happened with you and Jacki. That's so sad. How long were you two together? And I'm also sorry about the abortion. Why did she get it? Because personally, in my perspective, I think that's totally wrong.
Well, I love you very much, and I miss you. And I hope sometime you can come see me. It's been almost a year now since I've seen you. I love you.
Love,
Hayley
P.S: "Hope for faith. Pray for love. Go all the way. Never give up. Believe in yourself. Take every chance you get to live life to the fullest."

Dear Hayley: Carpe Diem
Hi Hayley!
I'm on vacation right now with Jacki at a place she went to college a long time ago, so I thought I'd write you once again.
We are staying at the Hilton hotel, which is one of the nicest hotels to stay at in the country. From some time ago, I had a lot of points saved from staying at Hilton hotels in the past, so I used these points to stay at this hotel now for free for a few nights, since I have no money now. By the way, you and I use to stay at Hilton hotels in the past a few times, and we had an absolute blast when we did this! You kinda like hotels like this one, and we wish you were here with us now, Hayley.
So Jacki and I just got here today, and she showed me the library where she use to work at, which is part of the university she attended. Wow- there are SO many books at this library. Jacki is very smart, and now I know why.......... Then, we walked around the town of Athens, Georgia, and it was a very beautiful day outside. We walked past this diner, and the manager gave us free drinks. This was very cool. We met some other really nice people as well during the day as we walked.
And I might be starting a new job as a medical editor for a lady who owns medical information companies. I'd be revising the writing of various advertisers, since I happen to know a great deal about medical stuff. This lady read some of what I've wrote in the past, so this is why she wants me to work for her.
It's advice time:
There was a guy in Germany who lived a long time ago named Frederich Nietzsche. He was a great philosopher- philosophers add great value to life. Mr. Nietzsche once said that whatever does not kill you, makes you stronger. What he meant was, when you are hurt in any way- physical or emotional- if you in fact survive, you are a much stronger individual as a result.
Because you are stronger due to these various traumas inflicted upon you, you then find yourself refusing to stay down when you are knocked down either by other people, or events that have happened your life. This is a very good way to be in your life, Hayley. Always get back up when you have been knocked down in your life. You will be a much better person in your life as a result.
I love you very much,
Dad

Hayley's Words
As many know, I'm unable to see my daughter right now due to a very toxic domestic issue in my life. While forbidden to do so, I've written my daughter Hayley. I was unaware as to whether she had read my letters to her or not.
It turns out she has received my letters with great joy. Hayley is also pleased I share these letters with the world, and this would be you, the readers.
This is what Hayley wrote to me:
Dear Daddy,
Hello!!!!!!!!!
How are you! I am so sorry I haven't wrote you back in awhile. Mom has been giving me your letters that you have been sending me. I keep them all!!!
Hey- can you believe I'm 5'5" tall!!! So I'm not quite as tall as you, but I'm close.
So, how was your trip- was it fun?
How was your bus ride in the rain at the coffee shop?
It makes me so happy to know that you share your letters with people! ha ha ha- it's so funny how your driver sings on the bus.
I hear that some of the drivers on the busses at my school sing too!!
I am so glad you are with someone that makes you happy! I miss the times we have had together. We had some great times!
Oh! By the way, are your hands soft? I love it when people put stuff on my hands. They're soft forever!
I've read so many books this year, and I'm doing great in all of my classes. Guess what? I have a 12th grade reading level! Awesome, right?
Well, I hope you know I love you very much and miss you a lot. I hope to see you soon. And plz write me back.
Love always,
Hayley A.

Love always,
Hayley A.

Dear Hayley
The following was composed by me after my daughter's mother placed me in jail due to false accuastions of abusing her mother. A restraining order issued against me prevents me from seeing or speaking with my daughter presently:
Dear Hayley,
Since I'm unable to send you letters right now in the mail, I've decided to write you anyway. What I do write to you I will give you in time, I promise.
I also write often about you, Hayley. I write about my thoughts and feelings I have- and how thankful I am that you are in my life. This life. When I do write about you, I share this with others. These others care about you as well- quite a bit.
Your dad likes to shout from the rooftop of the world when he writes. When I write about you, I acquire the words I write solely from my heart. So when I'm on this rooftop when I do write about you, I whisper in silence- which is the peace in my heart.
Yet others hear my whispers quite deeply at times- and quite clearly. As a result, I'll continue to retrieve these words to you within me.
Let's see....we will start when you were born. You clearly did not want to come out of mom just yet, although you were due a week before you were born. So you were ready to be born, but were apparently a bit too comfortable inside Mom.
Yet mom certainly would be more comfortable at that time if you were finally born, so it happened finally after 17 hours of sheer bliss experienced by Mom.
And you were wide awake when you were born, Hayley, and this is the only way to be in life. This was very cool for your dad to see you this way seconds after you were born. You were very ready to start living your life right after getting born. I enjoyed seeing you this way then as I do now.
Mom was a bit sore after delivering you, so I got to hang out with you a lot after you were born. We would go out on the back deck of our house very early in the morning and listen to the birds as we would watch them fly at times. And I have not stopped enjoying spending time with you ever since then.
Then, after 4 months, I experienced the best feeling in the world. I made you laugh.
I continued to make you laugh after that moment. This was very easy for me to do. I absolutely love to see you smile. Whenever I may be having a bad day, I'd come home and see you. At that point, I was no longer having a bad day.
Also, I use to drink a lot of adult beverages before you were born. I stopped doing this soon after you came into my life. I no longer needed to poison myself with such drinks.
When I drank, I was not myself at all, and I wanted and needed to be myself around you. I'm very happy I am myself around you and with you always. Quite simply, your dad rocks.
You always watch what I do, I learned quickly. So your dad is a fairly nice guy. I'll often hold the door for another. I always say 'please', and 'thank you', to others I speak with often. I always try and help others that need help.
You watched when I would do such things. As a result, you do these same things for others. You are very polite and kind, Hayley. I could not ask for anything else.
I love you very much,
Dad
